HOW CAN WE USE YOU, IF WE DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU?

Royal Victoria Yacht Club
91 Fishbourne Lane

Fishbourne Sailability Club
Have you ever wanted to go sailing on a regular basis and never thought it was possible?

Think Again!

Fishbourne Sailability Club could be just what you have been looking for.
We were formed to promote and facilitate water sports for Island people with disabilities.

We operate on Tuesday evenings throughout the season with Club nights on those evenings when the tide is out. On our Club nights we have talks and instruction on different aspects of sailing, and motor boating, as an understanding of the environment and use of equipment is essential to safety on the water. Our Club nights continue through the winter with talks, instruction and, very importantly, fun evenings of quizzes, parties and dinners.

We were established in 2002 under the auspices of the Royal Yachting Association Sailability initiative and the Club is a member of the RYA.

We are very lucky to be hosted by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, next to the Wightlink car ferry in Fishbourne. The Royal Victoria provides us with an excellent working base and many members of the Royal Victoria are keen supporters of Fishbourne Sailability.

We have two Wayfarer dinghies, a National Squib, a 25ft sailing cruiser and are supported with a number of other sailing and motor cruisers belonging to Royal Victoria and Fishbourne Sailability members.

We welcome new members and would be pleased to hear from you. You can write to us c/o Royal Victoria at the address below, email us at fsc1@btinternet.com , call the Hon. Sec. Patrick de Peyer on 882560 or just come along and meet us one evening, telephoning the RVYC first please.

Annual membership fees are:
Member with a disability - £25
Carer - nil
Helper - £10
Any member who joins our host club, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, can still remain a member of Fishbourne Sailability but would no longer pay a separate membership fee to us.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like further info.

The Royal Vic also hosts an 'Open Day for those with Disabilities' being held this year on Saturday June 30th. This is a very popular event with 106 visitors last year. If you would like further info on this then again please get in touch and... it is free to our visitors and carers and we provide teas, coffees and, to be confirmed, lunch.
